Game Ideas for Under Construction Theme Birthday Party

Block off the construction zone and put on your hard hats to construct a fabulous under construction party for your lil engineer.

1. Hammer Time- Let the kids enjoy doing construction work with fun hammers. Arrange few store bought hammers and nails and let kids have a child friendly hammer time. You can use wooden golf trees as nails and buy store bought candy filled hammers; you can also give them as favors once activity is done. For activity, cover Styrofoam boxes with brown, wood texture contact paper to perfectly represent wooden blocks and let kids hammer away whatever they wish to.
   
   

   

2. Treasure dig- Let kids have gala time digging through the paper rocks and find small treats for themselves. For this activity arrange a huge box or bucket, fill it with crumbled paper rocks, and hide small treats like theme candies, bubbles, spin tops and more into the box. Set a time limit and let the kids try their hands finding treats one by one. Kids can use a shovel for finding buried treasure.
   
   

   

3. Cardboard Busters- Stack the colorful cardboard blocks into a pyramid shape, securing them with tape. Use crazy balls or tennis ball as wrecking balls to knock down pyramids. This game is like fun bowling and kids will thoroughly enjoy doing it. Give each kid one or two turns to knock down pyramids.
   
   
4. Crane Tag- This is a simple game and does not require much of preparation. Mark two goal lines across each other using masking tape. Pick one player to be the crane and make him stand at the middle of construction zone. Let the players stand behind any of the goal lines and once players are ready, crane will yell ‘cross if you can’ and players need to cross the opposite goal line without being tagged by crane. Game continues until each player has been tagged.
5. Stack Cans-This game is perfect for younger kids, give them few empty cans with the task of making a tallest building using cans. Kids will love the challenge of stacking the cans as high as possible

If one team misses or drops the water balloon volleyball, the other team gets a point.

Tip: Have 10-15 water balloon volleyball ready before starting the game.

Homemade obstacle course

Kids love to perform different physical activities and jumping over the obstacles. You can create a homemade obstacle course having a series of activities. The kids have to begin the course from the starting line and race through a series of obstacles to finish it.
